How It Works

Known by the science community as the Triosyn^TM molecule, TrioMed Innovations has created a patented, proprietary process in which iodine is fused with a polymer under heat and pressure. It controls the delivery and dosage of molecular iodine directly to microorganisms, thus providing built-in antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activities.

This animation depicts the mode of action of Triosyn^TM: in the presence of the microorganism, the tri-iodide molecule (I₃^-) dissociates to iodide (I^-) and iodine (I₂); the iodine then quickly penetrates into the microorganism attacking its proteins, fatty acids and nucleotides (by oxidation) thus causing cell death.
